SVO books former SSA project director in J&K

The State Vigilance Organisation has booked the former project director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for causing loss to the state exchequer by extending illegal financial gains to an employee.

The accused official had directed the adjustment of a contractual employee Murtaza Hussain against the post of system analyst in the directorate office of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in violation of a government order and had drawn arrears and salary in his favour, causing loss to the state exchequer by abuse of official position, a spokesperson said.

A case has been registered in the State Vigilance Organisation on the prima facie establishment of offences on the part of the accused public servant, he said.
 

During a check it was found that the then state project director, in 2010, ordered that the contractual employee, who had been placed against the post of Assistant Programmer in 2007, shall be paid the salary attached to the post of System Analyst retrospectively with effect from July 2009.

"The order had been issued with ulterior motives and criminal attention as it is beyond his authority and in total violation of the 2007 order," the spokesperson said.

Due to the illegal order by the SSA project director, there was a loss to the tune of Rs 3,67,908 wef December 2009 to March 2014 to the State Exchequer, he said.
