: A teenaged boy viewing the Manjurvirattu (chasing the bull) festival at Seebam village, 53 km from here was gored to death by a bull, police said.
They said the incident occcured when the bull released from a pen escaped the clutches of some youth who were trying to hold on to it and hit villagers watching the event, got up in connection with a temple festival. The animal gored the 18-year-old boy from Bodampatti village in the chest after which he collapsed and breathed his last.
Though he was rushed to a hospital by the organizers and relatives, he was declared brought dead.
Police said action would be taken against the organisers as they not obtained requisite permission for the event.
