Australia-based telecom and information services company Telstra on Sunday announced appointment of Upendra Kohli as managing director for its Indian operations. Kohli would handle the newly created role of Country Managing Director for India, Telstra said in a statement.
He would be based in Bangalore and will develop and execute Telstra’s strategy for the Indian sub-continent. He would also be responsible for customer relationships throughout the country, it added further.
Telstra Chief Customer Officer, Global Enterprise and Services, Martijn Blanken said India has quickly become a strategically important market “both as a region where we serve a wide range of enterprise and carrier customers, and as a country where Telstra works with service partners to support our global and Australian operations”.
