Thane: man arrested for murder

Thane police's crime branch today arrested a man for the murder of an 18 years old youth.

DCP Parag Manere told the reporters that Arjun Ashok Tushamkar (18) was shot dead in Savarkar Nagar area on the night of September 18 when he was returning home with a girl.

A team led by ACP Nagesh Lohar spotted the accused Rahul Sushil Singh (26) walking down at Yeoor hills this morning and accosted him.

Search revealed that he was carrying a country-made revolver and a live cartridge. Upon questioning, he confessed to Tushamkar's murder, Manere said.

Police are conducting further investigation.
