Theft case accused flees, arrested, cop suspended

An accused in a theft case, who fled from police custody while being taken to a Baghpat court, was arrested today and a policeman was suspended in this connection.

Anil, arrested in connection with the theft of a bike, fled from police custody yesterday while being taken to the court from Doghat Police Station, SP Jitendra Shahi said.

He had been arrested, the SP said adding the policeman, who was escorting the accused, had been suspended.
