The department carried out a raid at the carpet manufacturing unit owned by Nasrullah Ansari near Nai Bazar last evening and rescued three child workers, Assistant Labour Commissioner R K Srivastava said.

Ansari managed to escape from the spot and a case has been lodged against him at Kotwali police station.

All the three children, who hail from Araria district in Bihar, are in the 10-12 age group, he said.
