Three get lifer in 2013 murder case

A local court today convicted three persons for killing a 42-year-old man in 2013, and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The convicts-- Pradeep alias Barkya Dashrath Patil (20), Dinesh Balaram Pawar (21) and Kalya alias Kaluram Atmaram Patil (22), were awarded sentence by District Judge S C Khalipe for the murder of Ananta Balaram Bhagyawanta.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the trio.

District government pleader Sangita E Phad in her submission told the court that there was a dispute between the victim and the convicts over a piece of land in Navale village in Daighar. On August 13, 2013 the trio, armed with weapons attacked Bhagyawanta, in which he died.
 

The prosecution examined 19 witnesses.
