Three killed, 17 injured in road mishap

Three persons including a woman and a minor were killed and 17 others injured when the vehicle they were travelling collided with a truck near Jaradoha village in Dumka district today, police said.

The victims were all residents of Jamani Bishapur under Kajrai police station of Bhagalpur, Bihar.

The officer-in-charge of Taljhori police station, Baleshwar Ram said the victims were on their way to Basukinath to worship at Basukinath Temple when their vehicle collided with a truck.

Twenty people were injured in the mishap and were rushed to nearby hospital but a 10-year-old Ramjivan Tanti succumbed to his injuries in Jermundi Referral Hospital and Neelam Devi (35) and the driver of the vehicle Jaldhar Paswan (26) breathed their last in the Dumka Sadar Hospital, he said.
 

Seventeen others were still undergoing treatment in the Sadar Hospital, he added.
