Three labourers killed, 4 injured in wall collapse

Three women labourers were killed and four others injured in a wall collapse at a construction site here, police said.

As many as 11 workers -- six women and five men -- were digging a foundation for a new shopping complex near a college on Madurai Road.

Suddenly, the adjoining wall of a shop caved in, trapping seven of them under the debris, they said.

The bodies of two women were extricated by fire and rescue services, while another was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Four injured, that include three women, are undergoing treatment at the government hospital here, police added.
