Three sentenced to life in murder case

A court here in the district of Bihar today convicted three persons to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them after finding them guilty in a three-year old murder case.

The court also awarded five years' rigorous imprisonment and Rs 2,000 fine on them after holding them guilty under the Arms Act for possession of illicit weapons used for the murder of the villager.

Ad Hoc court- V judge Ganga Sharan Tripathi passed the order sentencing the accused persons, Pankaj Singh, Manna Singh and Sumit Mishra, to life imprisonment and slapped a fine on each after finding them guilty in the murder of one Devendra Singh on May 7, 2010.
 

According to prosecution, Singh was shot dead by the convicted persons at Ramdiri Diara locality under Matihani police station area following a dispute between them.

The conviction under the Arms Act will run concurrently with lifer, the prosecution added.
