Three youths drowned in Vrindvan river while taking bath after immersing Goddess Durga's idol on culmination of festival Navratri near here, police said today.
Three persons drowned in Vridavan river here while five others somehow managed to save themselves when they were taking bath after immersing Durga idol last night, CSP Lovely Soni told reporters.
The deceased were identified as Sanjay Sharma, Ankit Sharma and Gaurav Chouhan, the officer said.
Soon after getting information about the incident, senior police officers reached the spot and fished out bodies with the help of local villagers and divers.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on, Soni added.
