Tigress found dead in MP's Shahdol district

An adult tigress was today found dead in a forest near Kalyanpur village, eight km from the Shahdol district headquarters.

"We got information at 1 pm that a tigress lay dead in the forest area close to Kalyanpur. It appears the tigress had died two or three days ago," Shahdol Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Pradip Mishra told PTI.

The animal had no external injuries, he added.

Autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death, he said.
