Tin and nickel firm up on rising demand

Tin and nickel prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid rising demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper and zinc also recovered owing to fresh demand from industrial users.

Meanwhile, copper cable scrap and copper wire bar edged down following mild demand from industrial users.

Tin prices surged by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,435 from Tuesday's close Rs 1,430 and nickel gained by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 810 as compared Rs 805 yesterday.

Copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 330 and Rs 348 from yesterday's close Rs 328 and Rs 346.
 

Zinc inched up by a Re per kg to Rs 194.

However, copper cable scrap and copper wire bar softened by a Re per kg to Rs 365 and Rs 393.
