Tractor comes into contact with live wire, 8 injured

Eight persons, including three women, were injured today when a tractor trolley they were travelling in came into contact with an electricity wire in Laar area here, a senior police official said.

The incident took place this morning when an iron pipe of the tractor trolley, carrying 25 kanwariyas, came into contact with a live wire in Baulia ward, SP Umesh Kumar Srivastava said.

Four of the injured were being treated at community health centre, whereas two were admitted to the district hospital.

The remaining victims have been referred to Gorakhpur Medical College, the SP added.
