Train traffic in the Thrissur-Shornur route here was affected for some hours today as a huge tree fell on the track near Wadakkancherry in the district in the wee hours.
The uprooted tree fell on the rail track at around 2.30 AM, railway sources said.
The rail service was restored by 7.30 am after removing the tree, the sources said.

In a press release, BJP's Jharkhand unit president Laxman Gilua thanked both the chief minister and the Railway minister for the new train.
He also expressed happiness at the naming of Erankulam Express as Dharti Abha Ernakulam Express, which is a real tribute to the freedom fighter, Birsa Munda.
