Trinamool may file rape charge against me: Bhattacharya

Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya today said Trinamool Congress might file a false rape case against him.

"I am prepared for the day when Trinamool Congress would file a false rape case against me as revenge for my victory in the last corporation election," the CPI(M) leader told reporters here.

"Trinamool Congress has already filed a false molestation case against me on Saturday. Rape charge is the next step," the former minister said.

Trinamool Congress leader Durlav Chakrabarty alleged that during a party procession on Saturday, CPI(M) workers had passed lewed comments and the Mayor, after appearing on the scene, encouraged them.
 

Later, Bhattacharya had laid hands on a woman worker of Trinamool and pushed her and for this they had filed the molestation charge against him.
