The crime branch of Bhusawal's Railway Protection Force (RPF) nabbed two hardcore criminals on Saturday from the Pawan Express, RPF sources said here today.

According to RPF sources, cops were on the look out for criminals who were looting railway passengers travelling in the general compartment at knifepoint since few months.

Around two months ago, a passenger named Siraj Jamil Khan travelling in the Kamayani Express was looted at knifepoint alongwith other passengers in the compartment.

He had lost his cellphone and some cash near Bhusawal. After reaching Khandwa station he had lodged his complaint against unidentified people and as per rules, the case was transferred to Bhusawal since it is the divisional headquarters of the RPF.

On Saturday, cops on patrol nabbed Vinod Kashinath Tayade, a resident of Chhayadevi Rakanagar in Bhusawal and Pradip Rajendra Patil, a resident of Shahpur in Burhanpur district who allegedly looted passengers on the train at knifepoint.

Both of them confessed to have looted several passengers including the complainant Siraj Jamil Khan.

They have been remanded to two days' police custody in the local court, an RPF officer said.
