Two persons were allegedly shot dead while three others suffered injuries today in an attack by their rival group over a property dispute.
The incident took place this afternoon in Behrampur village of the district, police said.
A meeting was called by the village elders to resolve the differences between two parties, but it failed to bear any fruit.

After the meeting ended, members of one of the groups forcibly entered into the house of the other and attacked them with revolvers and other weapons, killing Joginder Bhatti and Kuldeep Bhatti.
The attackers also damaged window planes of two cars before eloping from the scene, DCP (South) Rahul Sharma said.
After the incident, police reached the spot and detained three persons suspected to be belonging to the assailant group, police said, adding that efforts are on to nab the assailants.
