Two killed in road accident in Bihar's Gopalganj district

Two persons were killed today when a four-wheeler knocked them down on NH-28 in Bihar's Gopalganj district, police said.

The accident took place near Jhajhwa village under the jurisdiction of Majha police station of the district, the police said.

The deceased were identified as Bhagat Singh (50) and Janak Singh (45), the SHO of Majha police station, Rajrup Rai, said.

The four-wheeler first hit Janak Singh, a resident of nearby Koini village, from behind, killing him on the spot, Rai said.

Then, the vehicle lost control after one of its tyres burst, hit Bhagat Singh, killing him on the spot as well, he said.
 

Bhagat Singh was a resident of Jhajhwa village, the SHO said.

Though the vehicle was seized, the driver managed to escape, he added.
