Two killed, two injured as portion of terrace collapses

Two persons were killed and as many injured after a portion of the terrace of a building collapsed in Karanj area of the city here today.

"Two persons died and two others were injured when a portion of the terrace of a building collapsed this evening when they were standing on the ground floor," Karanj Police Sub Inspector I N Ghasura said.

The victims, identified as Akbar Qureshi (30) and Dinesh Makwana (25), were working in Nishant Hotel in nearby area, a police official said.

Iqbal Sheikh (42) and Ramu Bachulal (25) were injured, police said.

A fire department official said that it was a four-storeyed building of which the ground and the third floor were in use by a person, who was running a dispensary there, while the first, second and the fourth floor were not in use.
