The Crime Branch of Delhi Police have arrested two persons, who used to steal hard disk from set top boxes from houses and recovered 77 hard disks from their possession.
Police said that the arrested have been identified as Shanky Gupta (26), a resident of Bhramipuri and Rajiv Gupta, a resident of Karwal Nagar of Delhi, adding that they had removed 77 hard disks from 54 houses and the duo was yesterday arrested acting on a tip-off.
According to police, complaints had been received by various police stations in Delhi regarding theft of hard disk of Tata Sky and DTH by persons impersonating as company employees.

"A DTH operator outsourced entire installation work and accused used to work with installation service providers. They had been assigned the job of replacing defective set top box with a new box. After replacing the new set top box with the old one, they opened the old box and removed the hard disk and deposited them with the installation service provider," said a senior police officer.
Officer also said that accused used to sell the hard disk at Rs 1750. Shanky and Rajiv also roped in another associate Ankit Aggarwal working with the installation service provider at Patel Nagar.
