Two alleged anti-social elements were beaten to death at a village in Bihar's Araria district today.
Police officials said the incident happened at Laluabadi village under Jokihaat police station in the district and the dead persons have been identified as Mohammad Jehangir and Bujhari. Both were in their thirties.
Araria Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajive Kumar Ranjan said, the lynched duo along with another associate had purchased petrol from the shop of one Mohammad Alam, but refused to pay for it.

"A quarrel ensued and they fired at the shopkeeper. He escaped unhurt, but another person standing there and identified as one Mohammad Reyasat got injured in his leg by the bullet," Ranjan said.
The ASP said hearing the sound of firing, angry villagers of the area surrounded them. All three alleged miscreants tried to flee but were caught and thrashed severely. While Jehangir and Bujhari succumed, their associate managed to flee from the irate mob.
The police has recovered the dead bodies and sent them for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged in the incident as well.
