Fans of late soul singer Sharon Jones have been invited to celebrate her life at two public memorials in New York and Georgia next week.

The 60-year-old leader of The Dap-Kings, who had been battling pancreatic cancer, passed away on November 18, days after suffering a stroke.

Now Jones' loved ones have organised a tribute event at the Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York on December 14, and a second at the Imperial Theater in Augusta, Georgia on December 17, reported Billboard.

Both gatherings are open to family, friends and fans, and attendees have been asked to make charity donations in lieu of flowers.

The chosen beneficiaries have been listed as pancreatic cancer group The Lustgarten Foundation, The James Brown Family Foundation, and music charity Little Kids Rock.
