Gujarat police has decided to use an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) - Netra - during the week-long fair at Ambaji town of Banaskatha district in north Gujarat.

Banaskantha Superintendent of Police Dharmendrasinh Vaghela said elaborate security arrangements have been made to keep a watch on any suspicious activities in and around the public fair, which attracts millions of devotees from across the state every year.

"For better surveillance in crowded areas, we have requested the government to provide us a 'Netra' UAV which we may receive by tomorrow," Vaghela said.

"Today is the third day of the fair and we expect about 30 lakh devotees to throng the temple town. The fair will continue until September 9," the SP said.
