UDF candidate files nomination for Malappuram LS bypoll
IUML National General Secretary and UDF candidate for the Malappuram Lok Sabha bypoll, P K Kunhalikutty today filed his nomination.
Kunhalikutty filed his papers before District Collector Amit Meena who is the Returning Officer for the byelection, sources at the election cell at the Collectorate said.
He was accompanied by his party colleagues Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal and E T Muhammad Basheer besides Congress leader Aryadan Mohammad.
The former Kerala minister is representing Vengara segment in Malappuram district in the present assembly.
The bypoll is scheduled to be held on April 12.
It was necessitated following the death of IUML leader and former union minister E Ahmed.
