An unlicensed pistol was
today seized from a farmer, who was admitted to hospital here after he was injured when it accidentally went off while cleaning it, police said.
Police said Dhanabal (45) had loaded steel pellets into the pistol and was cleaning it yesterday, when it went off accidentally, injuring him.

Police found that the pistol was not licensed, seized it and registered a case against him.
The farmer told police that he used the weapon to scare away animals damaging his crops.
