Uptick in demand lifts aluminium futures by 0.52%

Aluminium prices recovered by 0.52 per cent to Rs 153.25 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up fresh positions amid upsurge in demand at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May month edged higher by 80 paise, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 153.25 per kg in business turnover of 311 lots.

The metal for delivery in April was trading higher by 70 paise, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 152.90 per kg in 1,186 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders after pick up in demand in physical market supported aluminium prices.
