Press Trust of India New Delhi

Lead prices fell by 0.58 per cent to Rs 155.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in trimming their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April fell by 90 paise, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 155.60 per kg in a business turnover of 313 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contracts shed 65 paise, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 156.55 per kg in 11 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders following tepid demand from battery makers in physical markets, mainly weighed on lead prices at futures trade.
