Urad dal prices rise steeply on the opening day

Prices of thoor dal, urad dal and gram dal increased while the prices of other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrain market here today.

Urad dal rose sharply by Rs.1,000 per quintal to Rs.9,200 from Rs.8,200, its closing rates.

Gram dal was up by Rs.300 per quintal to Rs.6,800 from Rs.6,500.

Thoor dal saw an increase of Rs.200 per quintal to Rs.7,400 from Rs.7,200.

Moong dal, sugar,wheat,maida (90 kg) and sooji (90 kg) prices ruled steady.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,400, Urad Dal Rs 9,200, Moong Dal Rs 6,500, Gram Dal Rs 6,800, Sugar Rs 4,250, Wheat Rs 2,700, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
