The US today expressed concern over extremist violence in Pakistan as it condemned yesterday's terrorist attacks in Karachi that claimed 48 lives.
"We stand with the people of Pakistan in condemning this violence, and it's really a senseless and inhumane act, in our opinion," the State Department spokesman, Patrick Ventrell, told reporters at his daily news conference.
"We do remain concerned about extremist violence of all kinds. Intolerance and violence against innocent civilians is an assault on the values of the people of Pakistan and a threat to a prosperous future for all citizens," he said in response to a question.
