Calling the shooting incident in Copenhagen 'deplorable', the United States has condemned the attack and offered assistance to the Danish authorities in their investigation.
"The United States condemns today's deplorable shooting in Copenhagen. We offer our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased victim, and our thoughts are with those wounded in this attack," said Bernadette Meehan, spokesperson National Security Council, White House.
"We have been in close contact with our Danish counterparts and stand ready to lend any assistance necessary to the investigation," she said.
Two unidentified gunmen had yesterday killed one man and wounded three police officers after opening fire at a cultural centre in Copenhagen (Denmark) hosting a debate on Islam and free speech.
