VDC member commits suicide in J-K

A member of Village Defence Committee (VDC) today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his rifle in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sukh Raj, 31, fired a bullet at himself from 303 rifle at his residence in Bandera-Kuntwara around 5 pm, police said.

His body was shifted to district hospital Kishtwar, they said, adding a case has been registered and the matter is being probed.
