Two alleged bootleggers have been arrested in Najafgarh area of the city with 160 cartons of illicit liquor smuggled from Haryana.
Crime Branch of Delhi police arrested the two Raju (22) and Vikas alias Vijay (23) yesterday when they had come to deliver the liquor to a contact and recovered 160 cartons of liquor kept in two vehicles, police said.
"An information was received that the duo would come to Najafgarh via Surakhpur in a Maruti Omni Van and a Hyundai Accent Car to deliver a consignment of illicit liquor to a contact. A trap was laid and when the two vehicles arrived, Raju and Vikas were asked to surrender," ACP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

Both of them tried to run away leaving the vehicles behind, but were nabbed by the police team after a chase, he said.
On interrogation, Vikas told police that he used to procure the liquor consignment from different vendors of Haryana and to conceal his identity he used to pay money to random people to get cartons of liquor from these shops.
