The Vigilance Organisation (VOJ) has filed a chargesheet against several former officials of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) department in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in a case pertaining to sanctioning of tenders.
"The Vigilance Organisation Jammu has produced chargesheet in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda on September 22 against Safi-ud-Din Giri, Krishan Kumar Sharma, Zaffar-Ullah Bhat, then Assistants Directors of CA&PD Ramban," a VOJ spokesman said today.
He said that Daljeet Wadhera, then Chief Accounts officer CA&PD Department, Jammu and several private contractors have also been named in the chargesheet.

These officers during their posting in CA&PD Department did not enter into contract agreement with successful bidders for transportation of food grains on several routes, he said.
"These officers by misusing their official position dishonestly and wrongfully gave favour to the contractors to continue transportation of food grains at much higher rates by ignoring the new successful contractors (lowest bidders) by hatching a criminal conspiracy with their favourable contractors," he said.
This caused a loss of Rs 25,67,117 to the exchequer, he added.
