Village head, three others get life term in murder case

A local court has sentenced four persons including a village head to life imprisonment in a 2012 murder case.

Additional District Sessions Judge A K Upadhyay also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on the three accused convicted last evening.

On September 10 three years ago, the victim, Amerpal was shot dead and several others were injured in a clash during the local body polls at Haroli village in Bhorakala area here.

The three accused -- gram pradhan vinod kumar, Anterpal, Praveen and Ravi were handed the sentence after the court held them guilty under section 302 of the IPC, according to government lawyer Yashlal Singh.
 

At present Vinod is the gram pradhan of Haroli and was the candidate for grampradhan in the panchayat polls.
