With charges of inaction against the Pingla police station officer-in-charge flying thick and fast in the wake of 12 deaths at an illegal firework unit blast, a senior police officer tonight hinted that steps will be taken against the concerned official.
"With such a big incident happening, we have to take action against the concerned OC," Superintendent of Police, West Midnapore district, Bharati Ghose said.
Ghose, however, did not confirm reports that the OC Pankaj Mistry has been put under suspension already.

The villagers had blamed the OC of inaction despite complaining about the fireworks unit in past and alleged the police arrived some time after the blast.
