Wanted criminal held in Ghaziabad

A wanted criminal was today arrested while planning to rob a Delhi-based businessman from Indirapuram area here.

Ishtekhaar (29), a native of Rasoolpur area in Meerut, was arrested near Mewar College in Vasundhara, SHO Haridayal Singh Yadav said.

Police have seized a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.

The SHO said that Ishtekhaar, who was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000, was waiting for his accomplice when he was caught.

An FIR under Section 25 Arms Act (possession of prohibited arms) has been registered against Ishtkaar.

He has been sent to jail.
