West Bengal Assembly remembers martyrs on Language Day

The West Bengal Assembly today remembered martyrs who laid down their lives to protect Bengali as a national language during the Bengali Language Movement of 1952 in East Pakistan now Bangladesh.
Speaker Biman Banerjee, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee, Leader of the Opposition Surya Kanta Mishra and several leaders and ministers paid floral tribute at a temporary memorial erected inside the Assembly premises.
