Wheat eased by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today largely on increased supplies against low demand from flour mills.

However, other grains including rice, after moving in a tight range on little doing, closed flat.

Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills against adequate stocks position mainly led to fall in wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell Rs 15 to Rs 1,545-1,550 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and eased to Rs 1,550-1,555 from previous level of Rs 1,570-1,575 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills and maida also settled lower at Rs 825-830 and Rs 890-900 as compared to previous close of Rs 840-850 and Rs 900-910 per 50 kg respectively.
