: BJP today questioned the AINRC government's action of posting chairmen for loss making state public sector undertakings in the union territory.
Party's local unit secretary V Swaminathan, in a release here,alleged that lavish spending and appointment of chairmen for loss making undertakings had been draining funds at a time when government is hard pressed for financial resources.
He demanded that government adopt austerity measures and strengthen revenue mobilisation to beef up the coffers.He also urged the Chief Minister to avoid appointing employees without being routed through Employment Exchange.

This system of appointment, bypassing employment exchange was depriving local youths of job opportunities, he said.
Swaminathan also wanted government to launch a drive to identify officers who had amassed wealth disproportionate to their known sources of wealth and confiscate such properties they would have had either within Puducherry or outside.
