In a fit of rage, a rice mill worker hit his wife with a road killing her on the spot at Khandagosh area of Burdwan district, the police said today.
The couple, Manab Soren (30) and Surbali Soren (28), used to have frequent quarrels culminating in Surbali's killing yesterday, the police said.
Last night, the husband hit Surbali with an iron rod and after realising that she was dead, hid her body in a hay stack, the police said.
Her body was found by the other workers of the rice mill today.
The man has been arrested, the police said.
Both of them hailed from Labhpur area of Birbhum.
