Woman arrested for murdering her minor daughter

A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her 10-year-old daughter in Nakkhupur village here, police said today.

Manjula, 32, who was allegedly having an illicit relation with a tractor driver Virendra Patel, a native of Mirzapur district, killed her daughter after she found about their relationship, said SP (rural) Ashish Tiwari.

Manjula killed her daughter a few months ago when she threatened to tell her father about her mother's illicit relationship, he said.

She later dumped the body in a nearby well on August 4, he said.

She also confessed during police interrogation that she had also murdered the daughter of her sister-in-law around eight years ago over the same issue when she too had seen the duo in an objectionable condition, the SP said, adding, though no FIR was registered in that old case.
 

Police has started investigating the case after the victim's father lodged a police complaint in August.
