Three members of a family, including a child, were killed and two others injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a dumper truck in southeast Delhi's Kalindi Kunj area today.
According to an onlooker, Raj Kumar (31), a CRPF constable, his wife and their three children were returning to Pushp Vihar from Kirpalpur village in Uttar Pradesh on a motorcycle when a dumper truck hit the two-wheeler from behind and dragged it for a few metres, police said.
Raj Kumar was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident but the impact was such that it came off from his head. No one else on the motorcycle was wearing helmets, a police officer said.

Raj Kumar, his wife, daughter Ritu (9) were killed on the spot, while their other children, Avinash (3) and Surya (6), were injured and are being treated at Holy Family Hospital, the officer said.
The accused driver, Rambeer, who was allegedly driving the dumper truck under the influence of alcohol, tried to flee following the incident but was was caught by the locals and beaten up. He is undergoing treatment at AIIMS and will be arrested after he recovers, police said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered at Jamia Nagar Police Station. It is suspected that Rambeer was driving under the influence of alcohol, they said.
According to Delhi police, 86,272 cases have been lodged for triple riding on two-wheelers this year till November 30. As many as 6,32,029 two-wheelers have been prosecuted for dangerous driving, riding without helmets, triple riding, one-way violations.
