An unidentified young woman was found murdered and her face and head smashed near here this evening, police said.
The disfigured body of the victim, said to be aged between 20 and 25, was found near a water pipeline at village Lonad, Sub-inspector P S Tayde of Padgha Police Station said.
According to preliminary probe, the woman was strangled with a stole and her face and head smashed with heavy stones to destroy her identity, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said, adding it could not be immediately ascertained when she was killed.
Police have registered a case and launched a probe.
