A housewife was allegedly raped by
an autorickshaw driver in front of her five-year-old daughter, police said today.
Police spokesperson Sukhada Narkar told PTI that the driver Sanjay Yadav, 25 has been arrested.
According to the complaint with Daighar police by the victim, who worked as a maid servant, the accused came to her house on June 25 and picked up a quarrel. A heated exchange ensued between the two, following which he allegedly raped her in front of her minor daughter.
The complainant also said that the accused, who was an acquaintance, threatened to harm her if she complained to anyone.
Police has charged the accused under sections 376(1), 452, 323, 504 and 506 of the IPC.
According to police, the husband of the victim separated from her three years back.
