Woman set ablaze, dies

A woman was allegedly killed and

set afire by some persons near Dhondhi village here, police said today.

The incident took place last night when villagers saw some people stopping a van, throwing a woman in the field and setting her on fire, they said, adding that the people in the van disappeared after the incident.

By the time villagers reached the spot, the woman, who has not been identified yet, had died, police said.

The body has been sent for postmortem, police said, adding that investigations are going on in the case.

No arrests have been made so far in this connection.
