Woman tries to commit suicide

A middle-aged woman today allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into the river from the busy Tawi bridge here, police said.

The officer said that the woman was saved by the locals.

"She was saved and later a police team rushed her to the hospital as she sustained several injuries," the officer said.

He said that the police is yet to record her statement as she was undergoing treatment.

"My investigating officer has gone to the hospital to record her statement, her identity and the reason why she tried to commit suicide is being ascertained," he said.
