A 26-year-old youth from Bangalore has been arrested after police found that he had sent an e-mail about the movement of two most wanted accused and their plan to blast off the city airport.
In the backdrop of threat of terrorist attack in Madurai and Coimbatore on September 29, the day extremist Imam Ali was shot dead some years ago, police have beefed up security and intensified vehicle search and checking in lodges and hotels.
The e-mail received by a security official in the city airport mentioned that two wanted accused were moving around the city and had planned to execute a blast in the airport here, police said.

The plot was hatched in a hotel, where he (mailer) was working and overheard by him, the mail said.
The mail was traced to be from a browsing centre near the airport and police could gather an image of the sender through the CCTV there. Police took a person, resembling the image, for questioning late last night and the person, identified as Sajin Babu of Bangalore, said to have confessed to sending the e-mail, they said.
Though Sajin has said that he had sent the e-mail just for fun, police are questioning him whether he has any link with any terrorist organisation.
The accused were wanted in the murder of Ramesh, Tamil Nadu BJP general secretary, in Salem recently.
