A special court awarded life imprisonment to a youth here today for raping a Dalit minor after kidnapping her.
The sentence was awarded by Special Judge A K Paliwal to Santosh Sharma (27) under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 4000 on the convict.

Government advocate Anand Shrivastava said that Sharma had abducted the Dalit from her residence in Rajendra Nagar area and raped her on September 5, 2013.
After her family members complained, Sharma was arrested.
