A 20-year-old youth jumped from the third-floor of the mini-secretariat here after the woman he had reportedly married refused to continue their relationship, police said today.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, Harish Chandra, his son Aman was in love with a girl, Saraswati, and the two had got married a few days ago in a temple, ASI Rakesh Kumar said.

However, the girl's mother, Sunita, filed a complaint against Aman. On September 23, both families were called by the Additional Comissioner of Police (Central) to resolve the issue, the ASI said.

In his complaint, Harish said while they were waiting outside the ACP's office, Aman was taken away by the girl's family members who wanted to talk with him. They allegedly abused Aman and the girl told him that she could not stay with him, he added.

Distraught Aman jumped from the third floor of the Mini Secretariat building. He was immediately admitted to the government-run B K Hospital where he died, the official said.

Saraswati, her mother, and two others have been booked under sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC with Police Station Central Faridabad.

Investigations are underway in the case, Kumar said.
